Classic City Radio Statement on Walter Cronkite

The formation and creation of Classic City Radio is a continuing process, but I must pause to recognize the death of the person CCR's news division will aim to emulate.

The passing of Walter Cronkite marks the death of the best true reporter broadcast journalism has seen. His ability to get right to the heart of what Americans were interested in is unparalleled. When we think of any major event that happened between 1962 and 1981, Walter Cronkite's name is inevitably linked to that event.

The Classic City Radio family mourns the loss of this great man and we extend our condolences to his colleagues and family.

On the Air!

Classic City Radio is beta-testing tonight!

I've recorded two between-song IDs, one a longer one, one a shorter one, using a crappy internal microphone.

So please, take a listen and hear what we've got in terms of musical variety.

Test live broadcast coming later tonight...time TBA.

Listen here. Windows Media Player required.

A few notes

This blog will be updated as I begin to develop Classic City Radio...from the ground up.

Today I began working on CCR's first press release, to be released on or around June 1. In this press release, I announced myself and Jace Gordon, my business and life partner, as the first two members of CCR's Board of Directors.

I also posted a listing on Craigslist which has had remarkably good results for a holiday weekend Sunday. I have some people who are interested in joining our team, so that's a great start.

More to come as the development process continues...
